6 Beauty Tips Using Green Tea You Should Try

Green tea has long been known not only as a health-supporting herb but also as a “golden secret” in beauty care. With high levels of antioxidants and many beneficial vitamins and minerals, green tea is a natural choice to help improve skin, hair and body shape. Let’s explore green tea beauty methods that you can apply right at home!

1. Smooth Bright Skin

Thanks to its antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, green tea helps brighten the skin, reduce redness, and prevent scarring. For whitening, you can try a green tea mask:

  • Take the tea grounds from 2 used tea bags.
  • Mix with 1-2 tablespoons of honey and a few drops of lemon juice.
  • Apply the mixture on your face and keep it for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

Apply this once a week to experience brighter skin.

2. Reduce Dark Circles Under Eyes

The vitamin K and natural astringents in green tea help reduce puffiness and dark circles. Try this simple remedy:

  • Chill 2 green tea bags in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • Place the tea bags over your eyes for 15 minutes while you relax.

Do it regularly twice a day for optimal results.

3. Anti-Aging

Green tea is a “powerful assistant” that helps slow down the aging process, reduce wrinkles and protect the skin from harmful UV rays. You can try the following two types of masks:

Method 1:
  • Mix 3 tablespoons of unsweetened yogurt, 1 tablespoon of green tea powder and a little turmeric powder.
  • Apply on face for 20 minutes then rinse.
Method 2:
  • Mix green tea powder with water (or coconut oil if skin is dry) to form a thick mixture.
  • Apply to face, let dry and rinse.

Use this mask 1-2 times a week to maintain healthy skin.

4. Acne Treatment

With its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, green tea helps control excess oil and prevent acne. To treat acne, you can:

  • Brew fresh green tea, let cool.
  • Use cotton soaked in tea to wipe on acne-affected skin, leave for 10-15 minutes then rinse with cool water.

Do this twice daily to see results.

5. Tighten Pores

Green tea helps to deeply cleanse and effectively shrink pores. You can make your own mask at home:

  • Brew strong green tea and let cool.
  • Mix tea with mineral clay to create a paste.
  • Apply to face, wait for it to dry and peel off gently, then rinse with warm water.

Combine drinking green tea daily to increase beauty effects from within.

6. Exfoliate

Dry green tea with its fine grain texture is a great ingredient to exfoliate your skin. You can apply:

Method 1:

  • Mix 1 teaspoon of dry green tea, 200g of sugar, 220g of olive oil and 40g of honey.
  • Apply to skin in circular motions and rinse with warm water.

Method 2:

  • Brew fresh green tea and add sugar to make a mixture.
  • Massage skin gently and rinse.

Use exfoliator 1-2 times per week to keep skin smooth.
